Beauty from within

August 2012

  • The Melbourne Review

At every age, a woman looks for changes in herself and decides whether to accept them or not. A woman may consider how she wants to age, and explores options based on how she wishes to look at 40, 50 or 60 and beyond. Women have grown accustomed to making informed decisions and are good at knowing what fits with their own philosophies and what doesn’t.

Qi, tai-chi, chi-gong, and of course acupuncture have been considered healthy choices for many years. Qi for skin is the vital energy that youthful skin exudes, the energy that gives skin bounce, smoothes laugh lines and saves skin from ageing prematurely – it is the ability to regenerate and repair. Depending on lifestyle, women begin to notice the reduction of Qi when they are in their 30s, the slow decrease in a youthful glow and the inability for skin to repair as it once did after a day spent in makeup, dehydrated by an icy wind, unavoidable in the city, or a day in the sun watching the tennis.

Qi for beauty began as an idea nine years ago when creator Kathy Pedersen decided to take Qi to as many women as possible so that they could control the way they age with the essence of their own Qi. Since then, Kathy has worked individually with women to show them how to direct volume into facial lines, how to create facial lift and how to bring tired skin to life. In response to women in Victoria asking for more, the first High Tea with Qi will be held this month.

Pedersen has personalised the Qi beauty home systems for specific face shapes, facial lines, and what Qi beauty calls the landscape of the face. Qi gives skin the opportunity to repair from the inside, an opportunity that it rarely receives, but is naturally capable of doing with the help of Qi stimulation.

“I wanted people to understand that ageing is a result of energy loss, naturally suggesting that if we can increase the energy of skin we can change the way we age. The Qi beauty Home Kits are all about energy renewal at the hands of women themselves.”

Cosmetic beauty procedures target ageing from the surface; threading, lifting, peeling or filling what it can to give a more youthful appearance. Skin with balanced Qi appears energetic, hydrated and naturally healthy. “The science of Qi beauty is quite precise, with both the home kit and practitioner treatments dependent on the correct gauss, polarity, configuration, adaptation and meridian linking to carry Qi around a face, neck and décolletage.”

Qi beauty Women Workshops are designed to educate women in Qi and give them the knowledge and confidence to use the Home Kit to control the way they age. A system has been created that women can use for the rest of their lives, one that will change with them. After a workshop, women can use the Home Kit, adapting it specifically for their skin, knowing that the Qi beauty system will change with them. There is also a team of Qi beauty practitioners around Australia that can offer facial treatments and supply the Home Kits, so women always have the support of Qi beauty.

The Qi beauty system delivers the results women need at the time and lays the foundations for healthy, vibrant skin. Whether fuller lips or a full face lift, the same system can be adapted to do both.
